The harm of sleep time disorder to children

Release date【2019-11-21】 Browse【1410】times

When I was a child, there was no entertainment in the countryside at that time. At most, I just watched TV and went to bed. My parents also went to bed early. They sleep regularly every day. But now most of the children are sleeping late, very irregular, generally affected by their parents.

The effect of sleep time disorder on children is really serious, specifically in the following five aspects:

1. It is not conducive to the height development of children

Research shows that 70% of a child's height depends on the parents' genes, and 30% depends on the day after tomorrow. Among these 30% external factors, sleep has the highest influence on height, which is beyond exercise and diet. Physiologists have shown that sleeping can grow three times faster than waking. Therefore, if children sleep late for a long time, it will have a certain impact on their height.

2. Hurt the child's heart

Children's lack of sleep and hyperactivity of emotions will accelerate blood pressure, respiration and heartbeat. If they are in a state of excessive hyperactivity over the years, cardiovascular disease will occur.

3. Early puberty

An 8-year-old 10-month-old girl was diagnosed with precocious puberty. She is no more than 132 cm tall and weighs 26 kg, but her breasts have developed. After consultation, I found out that the child didn't go to bed until 11:00 p.m. every year, and got up at 6:30 a.m. the next day. Children sleeping late will also stimulate the secretion of stress hormones, inhibit the activity of growth hormone, and affect the normal regulation of sex hormones by the pituitary gland. Therefore, children are not tall and have precocious puberty.

4. Affect the weight development of children

The habit of sleeping late and getting up late makes it easy for children to miss breakfast, and even they can't eat lunch normally. In the long run, the children who work and rest seem to be thinner and smaller than the children of the same age; the other situation is that children often sleep late, and they are likely to eat midnight snack because of hunger before going to bed, so there will be obesity problem instead, so sleeping late may make children grow too thin or too fat.

5. Affect children's mood and resistance

Children who can't go to bed early for a long time are also more likely to get sick. Due to the lack of sleep time at night, no matter how to mend sleep in the daytime, the quality of sleep at night is not as good, and the body resistance is also weakened. Moreover, due to the lack of sunshine, the long-term lack of vitamin D not only affects height, but also affects mood, and the child's temper is relatively poor. For example, in northern European countries, because of the lack of sunshine time, there are more anxious patients, which is related to the lack of sleep and vitamin D.

2. How to cultivate children's sleep regularity and improve sleep?

1. Don't sleep too long in the daytime

Most children who sleep too long in the daytime can't sleep well at night. If the child sleeps too much in the daytime, the parents can consciously wake up the child, or tease him to play more for a while, and overcome the "black and white reversal" by adjusting. Generally, preschool children can sleep for 1-2 hours at noon. Do not let children sleep for 3-4 hours or even longer.

2. Cultivate good sleep habits

Children's good sleep habits need adults to help develop. If the whole family sleeps late, and the sound of television and conversation keeps on going, you can't blame the baby for not going to bed on time. It is suggested that when it is time to go to bed, parents should create a sleeping atmosphere for their children, including dimming the lights, turning off the TV, and even sleeping with their children. At the beginning of the adjustment, parents can adopt a gradual approach, for example, to accompany their children to 12:00 in the evening, first to 11:00 in advance, and then to advance slowly.

3. Children sleep on their side

When sleeping, you should rest all muscles. The child sleeps on his side with his legs slightly bent. It is better to sleep on both sides in turn to the right, because the heart is inclined to the left, so that the heart can not be compressed, and it is conducive to the movement of food in the stomach to the duodenum.

If you want your child to grow up healthy, go to bed before 8:30 p.m., don't exceed 9:30 p.m., and get up after 7:00 a.m.

All in all: the healthy growth of children is the most important concern of parents, and good sleep needs good habits to protect. The way to improve sleep is inseparable from the good sleep habits of children, otherwise other best ways can only be wasted.
